Identity Verification & Anti-Fraud Policy

1. Identity Verification for New Users

For new users (first-time riders) paying by card, Tranzit ("the Service") requires a one-time identity verification. You will be prompted to take a selfie photo to confirm that you are the authorized cardholder. This measure is implemented to prevent unauthorized credit card usage and fraudulent activity.

✓ Returning customers (1+ completed rides) skip this verification entirely.

2. Collection and Use of Verification Data

  • Data Capture: New users will be asked to take a selfie photo during their first card payment. This is a visible, user-initiated action.
  • Purpose of Collection: This image serves solely as a Digital Evidence Packet to validate the legitimacy of the transaction and to serve as proof of authorization in the event of a payment dispute or chargeback.
  • Data Privacy & Security: All verification data is encrypted immediately upon capture and stored on secure, access-controlled servers. This data is retained strictly for transaction verification and legal dispute resolution purposes. It is never sold, shared publicly, or used for marketing.

3. Verification Process

When verification is required, you will see a clear popup requesting a selfie. If the initial verification cannot be completed (e.g., due to insufficient lighting), you may be asked to:

  • Retake the selfie with better lighting.
  • Submit government-issued identification and a digital signature.

4. Camera Permissions

New users paying by card will need to grant camera access when prompted during checkout. This permission is only requested when verification is needed. Returning customers do not need camera access.
